Abstract: Writing ability measurement, as a significant part of language proficiency measurement, plays a decisive role in the language teaching of deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) students. The measurement of writing ability can assist teachers in accurately measuring DHH students' language proficiency and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching methods. We, however, have not yet formed a complete tool to measure Chinese DHH students’ writing ability. Considering the specificity of Chinese and the importance of measuring DHH students’ writing ability, the present study aims to develop a rubric of writing ability for Chinese DHH students from a pedagogical perspective by analysing the written language of Chinese DHH students. 46 essays, across three genres, were collected from 11 elementary-aged Chinese DHH students. The findings show that the Structural Analysis of Written Chinese (SAWC) rubric, which consists of the indices of measurement and the scoring criteria, is a valid measuring tool specifically designed for the written Chinese of DHH students. It takes the T-unit as the unit of measurement. To ensure the comprehensiveness and validity of the rubric, SAWC analysed the written Chinese language from three levels, including the number of perfect T-units, flawed T-units, and nonqualified word-strings, as well as the total number and mean number of words and characters in each type of unit. Level 1 analyses the perfect T-units in the written language of DHH students. Level 2 analyses the perfect T-units and flawed T-units in the written language. Level 3 analyses all the units of the written language, including perfect T-units, flawed T-units, and nonqualified word-strings. Because of the comprehensiveness, consistency, unlimitedness, and universality, the SAWC rubric can measure the writing ability of DHH students objectively and effectively.

Abstract: Assessment provides practical information for gathering data to determine extent to which learners demonstrate desired learning outcomes in line with 21st Century skills. As demonstrated by sustainable development goals, education system aims at developing informed and functional citizens for survival in modern society. In this regard, this study examined effect of social studies curriculum assessment methods and development of responsibility among pre-primary school learners in Nairobi City County, Kenya. Specific objective was to determine influence of observation, oral questions and portfolio assessment on development of responsibility among learners. Descriptive survey design guided the research process while primary data were sourced from 98 teachers who were purposively selected from 211 pre-primary schools. A questionnaire, observation schedule and documentary analysis were used as data collecting tools. Data was summarized and organized according to research variables and arranged in themes for analysis. Multiple Intelligences theory was used to explain ways in which assessment strategies impact on development of responsibility. With appropriate assessments, learners, teachers and parents remain informed about depth in learning achievement, rate of progress and decision to undertake. Findings of the study showed that portfolio was most efficient assessment method used in determining responsibility which was closely followed by observation and lastly oral questions. Learners demonstrated responsibility through interdependence, active stewardship, respect for diversity and self-refection. The study recommends alignment of social studies curriculum pedagogy to authentic assessment methods for realization of Vision 2030 and sustainable development.

There are significant differences at the competitive advantage degree and administrative creativity degree among public kindergartens principals from the perspectives of study sample due to the years of experience only. Moreover, there is a significant positive correlation between the administrative creativity degree among Arab public kindergarten principals and the competitive advantage degree of public kindergartens. Depending on the study results, the researcher recommends that the education ministry should find out new inventive ways of choosing creative kindergartens' principals. What is more, educational institutions must invest in human skills, and develop unique resources to create difference and acquire competitive advantage.

Abstract: This study investigates an issue or problem concerning the role of school principals in learning management. This study looked at cases in the form of events, learning processes, learning activities, learning programs, and assessment or evaluation of learning in a superior primary school (case study at a state primary school SD Negeri 2), Ternate City. The primary goal of this research is to describe the planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning in high-performing schools. A qualitative approach with case study research was used in this study. Data collection techniques included interviews with principals and teachers, observations to reveal the principal's role in learning management, and documentation to ensure learning management documents. Data reduction, presentation, and conclusion were used as data analysis techniques. Meanwhile, the data's validity was checked by extending the time and persistence of observation, using triangulation techniques, peer discussion, and referencing. According to the study findings, learning management at SD Negeri 2 and Ternate City includes planning, implementing, and evaluating stages. Thus, the superior school management has been successfully implemented in target schools; however, for long-term sustainability, the principal must continue to maintain and improve the quality of school management through periodic evaluations. Abstract: The development of kindergarten-based curriculum is of great value to the long-term development of kindergartens. Teachers can clearly grasp the connotation and characteristics of kindergarten-based curriculum and the conditions required for the development of kindergarten-based curriculum, which can make the process of kindergarten-based curriculum development more smooth. At present, the current situation of kindergarten-based curriculum development mainly has the following problems: lack of integrated thinking, blind curriculum structure; Random patchwork of course content, the linear superposition of block knowledge lack of integration; The elitism of curriculum development subjects and the marginalization of first-line basic teachers in curriculum development; The content design and implementation of the curriculum ignore the local cultural resources and background, do not pay attention to the subject status of children, and ignore the comprehensive development of children. Therefore, kindergartens must return to the original intention of kindergarten-based curriculum development, effectively integrate the curriculum, based on kindergarten culture and local culture; Follow the adaptability principle, with the spirit of play as the guide, pay attention to children's interest and learning style; Enhance teachers' curriculum awareness to serve children's life growth and experience structure. In the construction of kindergarten-based curriculum, in order to better meet the development needs of children, our kindergarten fully excavates and scientifically utilizes the local resources around, upholds the child-centered position, takes the empirical curriculum concept as the guidance, constructs the reading curriculum for children's pleasure experience, carries out multi-dimensional and multi-form reading activities, highlights the dominant position of children, and helps children to obtain direct experience. We integrate early reading activities with children's life, so that children can read objects, read pictures, read symbols and read videos. Fully feel the diversity of reading, have a love of reading, happy to read, good at reading.
